Esports as Accelerator for Social Inclusive Education

What is the EASIE Project?
EASIE – Esport Approach for Social Inclusion and Empowerment – is an innovative educational project aimed at developing a new esport-in-education pedagogical methodology. By integrating esport into general adult education and vocational education and training (VET), the project promotes social inclusion, creativity, and the development of key digital and entrepreneurial competencies.
EASIE is grounded in the belief that esport can be a powerful educational tool when approached with intention and structure. The project collaborates closely with an advisory board to ensure that all outcomes are validated, widely disseminated, and easily adaptable across different countries, educational systems, and academic levels.
A New Managerial Approach
Implementing an esport-based educational strategy requires not just pedagogical innovation, but also a shift at the managerial level. EASIE offers practical guidelines for local implementation, addressing organisational strategy, infrastructure needs, and the engagement of staff at all levels. The active commitment of educational leadership is essential for creating sustainable change.
A New Didactic Approach
To bring this methodology into the classroom, educators must be empowered with the skills and knowledge to leverage esport effectively. EASIE provides targeted teacher training to enhance digital and professional competencies, helping educators to explore and apply esport as a pedagogical tool. This not only improves classroom engagement but also supports students’ personal development and inclusion.
