Re-Mind project

Museums are changing. As digital technologies become increasingly present in cultural spaces, they offer new opportunities for learning and engagement, but they can also contribute to digital fatigue, sensory overload, and a sense of disconnection. RE-MIND explores how museums can respond to these challenges by creating experiences that give visitors space to slow down, reconnect, and engage with culture in more meaningful ways.

Connecting Culture, Wellbeing and Communities

RE-MIND is a Creative Europe Cooperation Project that promotes mindfulness and wellbeing as new elements of the museum experience. The project aims to explore how museums can become more welcoming and supportive environments, encouraging visitors to experience culture at their own pace while supporting emotional wellbeing and lifelong learning.

The project brings together organisations from North Macedonia, Serbia, Italy, Croatia, Poland, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Partners are working together to develop new approaches to intergenerational audience engagement, involving museum professionals, educators, children, young people, and older adults in the process.

One of the main outcomes of the project will be the development of a Mindful Museum model, based on principles of mindfulness, inclusion, empathy, curiosity, and connection. Through this approach, RE-MIND seeks to strengthen the relationship between people, museums, and cultural experiences, while making museum environments more accessible and relevant to different generations.

Training activities, practical resources, workshops, and collaboration among participating institutions will support the development and implementation of the model. The project will also contribute to the creation of a lasting network that can continue sharing knowledge and practices beyond the project period.

RE-MIND will run for three years, from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2029, with a total EU grant of EUR 781,743.28.
