The ESEAL International Workshops brought together educators and project partners from Italy and Denmark to collaborate on social entrepreneurship education for adult learners. Through hands-on activities, field visits, and the use of the EntreComp Framework, participants co-developed innovative digital micro-lessons. These transnational meetings fostered exchange, inspiration, and the creation of practical tools for social innovation in adult education.

ESEAL Transnational Workshop in Denmark in March 2026
In March 2026, educators and project staff from Denmark and Italy met in Nykøbing Falster for the second transnational workshop of the Erasmus+ project ESEAL – Empowerment through Social Entrepreneurship Education in Adult Learning, hosted by VUC Storstrøm. Over three days, participants explored how social entrepreneurship can be integrated into adult learning through innovative and learner-centred educational approaches.
The workshop combined expert input, collaborative work, and field-based learning experiences, while educators continued developing and refining the ESEAL digital microlessons, now freely available as Open Educational Resources.
A highlight of the workshop was the visit to Oremandsgaard Estate, a remarkable example of how entrepreneurship, sustainability, local production, and community engagement can work together to support regional development. Participants discovered how different activities and small enterprises can contribute to creating economic, social, and environmental value within a local community.
The programme also included a visit to Folkehuset Absalon in Copenhagen, a vibrant community house that brings together people of all ages through shared meals, cultural activities, workshops, and social events. The visit offered an inspiring example of how community spaces can foster participation, inclusion, and social connections.
These experiences reinforced one of the key messages of the ESEAL project: entrepreneurship is not only about creating businesses, but also about building stronger communities, encouraging collaboration, and generating positive social impact.

Italy-Denmark learning, collaboration, and social innovation in action!
In October 2025, the first transnational workshop of the Erasmus+ project ESEAL – Empowerment through Social Entrepreneurship Education in Adult Learning brought together educators and project staff from Italy and Denmark in Rome and Naples, to explore how social entrepreneurship can become a powerful tool for adult learning and community change.
During the workshop, participants worked with the EntreComp Framework, analysing the entrepreneurial competences that can help adult learners develop creativity, initiative, resilience, collaboration, and active citizenship. Together, they began designing the first ESEAL micro-lessons, transforming entrepreneurial concepts into practical, engaging learning experiences for adults.
A key part of the programme was a field visit to FOQUS – Fondazione Quartieri Spagnoli in Naples, an inspiring example of social innovation and community regeneration. Through education, culture, entrepreneurship, and social services, FOQUS demonstrates how collaboration and local engagement can create opportunities, reduce social exclusion, and strengthen communities.
The workshop highlighted one of the core ideas behind ESEAL: social innovation is not only a topic to teach – it is also an educational approach that encourages learners to identify challenges, develop solutions, and become active contributors to society.
